Halloween!!!

Well, Jack's first REAL Halloween! Last year he was a chicken

but he was 3 1/2 months old, so he just sat in the stroller.

This year...A MONKEY!!!

A holiday party at Starmaker with all Jack's daycare friends. For some reason, he would go sit on all the other parents' laps.

Finally...Jack sits with Mommy.

For the real trick-or-treating...let's drive everywhere!

This is Jack with his friend Haley...and dad Fred at right. I seriously think in a couple of years it really will be "monkey-see, monkey-do" with these two.

We just HAD to see Miss Sue tonight! Yes, Sue...that is a banana in my pocket, and I am happy to see you, too!

This is Jack with Noah...Haley's little brother. You may see some resemblance in the monkeys.

Well, looks like someone is cheating by stealing candy from home!!!!





"Okay, I'm done with the costume!" He actually greeted other kids at the door like this and wanted to walk outside.

I don't care if he wears the jersey...as long as he gets in.

For those not familiar with family allegiances, Armin went to Duke. Kelly to Old Dominion. We have aunts and uncles from Wake Forest, UNC, Appalachian State, and George Mason.

Then there's Grandpa Jim. A UVa graduate. Not only a graduate, but a football player. If you ask Kelly, Jean, and Whitney, they believe he was known as Jim "Chicken Legs" Lacey on the gridiron. (Okay, okay...he was known as "Monk." His friends from UVa STILL call him Monk)

Well, Grandpa Jim is already trying to sway Jack's attention toward the Wahoos. He got this outfit for him at a recent weekend in Charlottesville.

Like I said, if it will get him into UVa, I'll put him in a pink football jersey.

Nothing looks tougher than a football player riding a zebra.

Down on the Farm

Jack had his first field trip...to a pumpkin patch and petting farm. He was lucky enough to be able to spend some time with Grandma Jean and Aunt Whitney, who came down for the occasion. After a brutally hot Monday and Tuesday, temperatures finally got back to normal, with morning temps in the low 50's. Perfect Weather!!!!

What's important to note here is not that Jack likes the goats, but that he's sucking on the bars of the pen holding the goats. His comment: tastes like chicken.



Here's Jack and Aunt Whitney standing in a "John Deere tractor" playground piece. Jack really likes tractors. This worked out doubly-well, because Aunt Whitney goes to Appalachian State University, which means she likes men who like tractors.



Probably the most non-threatening scarecrow we've ever seen.
