Well, he's learning his colors...can string a sentence (minus the verb) together...AND he definitely knows how to say ICE CREAM.

Jack and Parchment Paper

Well, Jack can break into the pantry. And he found Kelly's roll of parchment paper.

We're not buying any more toys. All he wants is stuff that makes noise.

Birthday Party!

Yes, he turned 2 last Monday, so we had some of his little friends over to the community pool. Turned out to be a warm day, so really good for getting into the water. It's also a great way to tire out kids and make them take a 2nd nap.

Here's the birthday boy surveying the landscape...and all the hot 2 1/2 year old girls..."Hey...how YOU doin'? I see you wear Swimmies as well. Can I buy you a juicebox?"

We tried to sing "Happy Birthday," but with a plateload of cupcakes, you can see how much he was going for it.

This is all he really cared about CUPCAKES!!!! Not even that...JUST THE ICING!!!! He licked one clean, then grabbed another without actually eating the cake part.

Almost two...

Since school is out, we pulled Jack out of daycare so Kelly and he can spend quality time together. And boy, what fun. A couple of birthday parties, a trip to Norfolk, and in general reading and playing (and expanding the vocabulary). He knows what he wants to do, and if you're in his line of sight, he'll grab your hand and say, "MON! MON! (Meaning 'Come on!)"

He loves the pool...and we'll soon take a picture of the raspberry he got on his chin by wiping out poolside yesterday.

Here's a classic from a birthday party at one of those places with ball pits and gym mats everywhere. We like to think he's diving to make a catch, but really it's his ungraceful way of getting out of the ball pit.



Kelly took Jack to the park, and he spent 5 minutes pretending to hide. Can you find him?

And...PLAYTIME! He loves PlayDoh. Not so much the taste, though.
